Yesterday went too the Dead Railway (Birma railway) and visit the World War II Cemetery of the soldiers that died by building this railway. After that we make a ride on the train over the railway that has been created in that period. Then we went too a elephant trekking and last stop was a waterfall. Nice location!
Im now at the airport waiting for my flight to Bangkok. Yesterday had my last evening with my dear friend Tairo. We chat almost 2 years already and finally we met. It was a great time to share my time with him and we sad that i have to leave Kuala Lumpur.
But we can video chat, whatsapp call, voice call to hold this contact and the friendship we had before this meetup is become even stronger. Im honest i will miss him! But these moments of sharing will hold in my memory. Im sure i will see him again!
Beside this, Kuala Lumpur was a great place to stay. Modern, of you know lots to see, friendly. I can settle here if its comes to that.
Kuala Lumpur thank you for this nice stay, Le Apple Boutique KLCC thank you also for the great stay in the hotel and last Girls and 1 boy from ROKKO thank you for the breakfast and every day the good morning (おはよう) and goodbye (さようなら) in Japanese.
In Kuala Lumpur centre there are lots of shopping malls!! Suria KLCC, Avenue K, Pavilion KL, Starhill, Fahrenheit 88, Lot 10, Plaza Bukit Bintang, Plaza Sungei Wang and Plaza Low Yat. Last one is a computer mall.
From Suria KLCC you walk true the park and go into the Exhibition building so you will reach the SkyBridge. Or from Suria KLCC follow signs Aquaria KLCC and you will reach the finally the SkyBridge as well. This SkyBridge is a bridge you can walk all the way to Pavilion KL without busy roads to cross over. From there follow the Jalan Bukit Bintang and all the shops are on the left hand.
I walked yesterday morning on the beach, as every morning … Always see tiny crabs running for their life into their holes in the sand. But yesterday saw a crab running to the water, and when the sand is soft he hide himself into the sand. A man walked by and stand his feet directly on the spot where this little crab was hiding himself.
The crab wont come back on surface… At that point i’m was thinking: How many little crabs are hiding for us in the sand, and will die because people walk on the sand as well. Poor little creatures, they try to survive but don’t know that will die anyway. Or they have luck and nobody will stand on the same spot so the crab can go back into the sea when its safe….
Suddenly on the beach i remembered something… Why didn’t i see anything about this moment. Nothing… But it happend, Patong was also hit by the tsunami disaster in 2004. There is nothing left thats remember that moment. I checked out and some people told me that it was almost gone in 2005. I don’t go make a whole story about it, we all know what happend that day. But it’s a strange feeling at that moment when you think back what we all have seen on TV, hear on radio, all the amateur video’s on youtube… And now i walking here around and there is nothing left that reflect back to 26 December 2004. Here some images of Patong beach after the disaster.
So finally have a nice 360° image of the beach of Patong. You see its not crowed with people. Most of the tourists here are Russian and People from Scandinavian. Sometimes you hear French and i didn’t hear any Dutch.
Every day i goto the beach for some hours and rent a bed include a parasol for 100 Bath (2,60 euro) for a whole day. Around 13:00 i walk to the boulevard and there are the street food motorbikes again. Buy some nice lunch an walk back. Have a nice view with nice food and even more nice weather. Even Patong is very touristic its nice.
Maybe i will move to Kata Beach for 1 week, seems a beautifull beach as well and always good to see other locations.
So this evening i went to the streets where it all happen, drinks, beer, shots, ladies, boy’s ,food on the streets … you name it and you will find it here. On every meter they try you to get into their bar and have some drinks. On every corner you see a group of ladies for a massage… At “The Paradise Complex” you see the lady boy’s, and the gays walking around.
Near the beach you will find many restaurants and food on the streets. This is always so difficult, because the food on streets is do delicious but mostly fish, chicken, beef, or something between, without vegetables… When you goto restaurant you will get everything, but its more expensive.
I have made some images only for a little impression what you can expect here:
And another nice 360° image. This time of a shopping street in Beijing.
I went to the Olympic Park and visit the “Bird Nest”. This was the stadium where the opening of the Olympics in 2008 started. Its a impressive building, from the outside but also from the inside. Its huge, but feels small. I walked around and went also to the top to see the whole area. It was amazing to stand there, ok it’s not the premiere feeling of a opening, but still… We saw it on TV, we saw the firework and now im standing there.
After my Olympic Park visit i went too 2 temples: Lama Temple and Temple of heaven. Both very crowded with people. And seems i was the only white guy around there. The temples where colored so nice, and everywhere people pray, and give money to the buddha. When i was in temple of heaven 2 times people want on a photo with me, so i was the only white guy there, and a new attraction was born…
Today i went to Great Wall of China. This is the longest wall ever made by humans. Total length around 10.000km.It was a long journey to get there by bus. I was happy that i did a excursion otherwise i wasn’t able to find it my own and public transport. At this period of the year it was the best. Less people around so have some nice images created. After we went back in the hotel i had a dinner with a couple from Norway. Was a nice conversation and in meanwhile we ordered some delicious food in the upper floor of a shopping mall!
I went to the old city of Shanghai… Was difficult the find it because all small streets are filled with people and little shops. You have to look very well to see the beauty of this location. This location was build in the “Ming Dynasty” by a rich family the Pan-clan. It has been destroyed several times: Opium War, Taiping Protest.
They renovated all and you can see this, because it look old but it isn’t. Its ok, now we have a idea how it was in that period.
Here some nice 360° images of Hong Kong:
Again i have a sad feeling by leaving Singapore. In April and Juli 2014 went to Singapore as well, and 2 times had the feeling i never want leave this nation. Tried to find my way to stay and live here. Its hard to find a job that fits so you can get a work permit. So if someone read this and have the opportunity to let me work in Singapore… let me know.
Im now at Changi Airport waiting for my flight to HongKong. Also a place i want see for so long period. Im gonna meet a friend over there so that will be great to meet him in his own country. We did meet already in Amsterdam. Later you will read and see the beautiful and maybe the other side of Hong Kong. I always curious who a country looks like when you leave the touristic path and see how the people living.
Today i went to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. This temple has a part of tooth of the Sakyamuni Boeddha.
you can visit this temple for free and when you done on ground floor go up and see this tooth yourself. You have to take of shoes and its not allow to take photo’s. The ground floor is allow. Below you see collection photo’s of this wonderfull temple
Here you can see the temple 360 degrees:
It was a experience !!! I was at the “New Bridge Rd” near my hotel. Crowd of people waiting for the countdown, Dragon dancers entertain the people. Most of the people are tourists. Some locals told me that the Chinese community are at home and watch the countdown on television.
It was also the first use of my lens i bought weeks ago. A Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 and its amazing what i can do now!!
Shoot night shots without a tripod. Ok off course its better to use, but when objects moving you can setup your camera well so its not needed.
It was a great night. I loved it, I enjoyed it, I was there!
Im getting nervous… Everything is done, packed and double check my stuff… Installed a plugin in WordPress to push everything to all my social media i use.
My last post was little to excited… haha From today writing this message i have a countdown of 19 days.. Then my journey will start!!!
